Redbox Playpass
Client: Redbox
Role: Senior Visual Designer
The Redbox marketing team challenged the design team to create a new experience for customers signing up for Playpass, Redbox's loyalty program. The ask was to create a page that would educate the user about the Playpass program and create a more engaging design to excite customers about the benefits.
As the design lead I was responsible for working with the marketing, UX, and development teams to gather feedback on the existing Playpass page to find ways the experience can be improved. I was also tasked with creating imagery that that represents the Redbox brand.
The existing Playpass page suffered from an over 50% abandon rate, which was mainly due to the user having to go to a new page in order to create their account. The UX team's solution to this was to create a long scrolling page which would outline the benefits of the Playpass program and have an integrated sign in at the bottom of the page.
The use of content sections with large brand imagery and concise copy helped to solve the need for a more engagine experience. The imagery helped to reinforce the brand assets that are principle to Redbox, and highlight featured titles.
The integrated sign up at the bottom of the page was designed to allow the user to toggle between creating an account and signing into their existing account. Since this page is fully responsive, the module was designed to be adapatable for both desktop and mobile views.
